Condominium Apartments in Hawaii Kai
Mt Terrace
The first condominium as you enter Hawaii Kai from town,
this is a luxurious
building completed in 1972 – well
maintained with a 24-hour doorman. There are 24 stories
with a total of 126 air-conditioned units, 6 to each floor. All
are large 2-bedroom, 2- bath apartments, with floor to ceiling
windows offering panoramic views of ocean, mountains and
marina. Amenities include a heated pool, expansive exercise room,
handball court
and renovated party room. The average sales price is $650,000 to
$750,000.
Kalele Kai
This is a gated luxury community on the marina in the center
of Hawaii Kai. There are 227 deluxe 2 and 3 bedroom
apartments in three 6-story towers and ten 3/2.5 townhouses
on the waterfront. All units have luxury baths, designer
kitchens with state-of-the-art appliances and huge lanais
providing grand indoor-outdoor living. Amenities include
pool, spa, barbecue area and clubhouse. The average sales price
for the 2-bedroom
is just over $600,000, for the 3-bedroom just over $1million and
$1,400,000 for the
townhouses.
Colony at the Peninsula
The newest condominium in Hawaii Kai, the Colony
consists of four low-rise towers containing one, two and
three bedroom air-conditioned apartments, 208 in all. It is in
the gated community of the Peninsula, which also has single
family houses and town houses, two swimming pools, large
exercise room, recreation room and park. The 1-bedroom unit sells
for $450,000 -
$480,000, the 2-bedroom for $550,000 to $600,000 and the 3-bedroom
for
$620,000 to $750,000.
The Esplanade
Completed in 1973, the Esplanade is a resort-like low-rise
complex with 51 1-bedroom apartments, 135 2-bedrooms
and 22 3-bedroom units. Wonderful amenities include
very large swimming pool, whirlpool, tennis courts,
barbecue grills, exercise room, putting green, golf driving
net, recreation deck, saunas and private marina with boat
docks available. 1-bedroom unit has been selling for $350,000 to
$400,000, the
2-bedroom for $445,000 to $550,000 and the 3-bedroom for $775,000
to $850,000.
Plaza Hawaii Kai
This is the east most condominium in a string of five
located at the beginning of Hahaione Valley. One
building is a 14 story concrete hi-rise with a total of 117
apartments, one 1-bedoom per floor and eight 2-bedroom
affording beautiful views of the Hawaii Kai marina. The
largest unit on each floor, the “bubble unit” has
air-
conditioning and floor to ceiling windows and 270-degree view.
There is a separate
low-rise building housing 29 town house apartments. Amenities in

Next in line is this unique 15-story building which is four

floor in each tower is one 1-bedroom and one 2- bedroom
apartment, so there are 56 1-bedrooms and 56 2-bedooms.
They have wonderful marina and ocean views and amenities
include heated pool, barbecue area, meeting room and
exercise rooms. The 1-bedrooms sell for low to mid $400,000 and
the 2-bedrooms
for low to mid $500,000s.
Heritage House
Next in line is this17-story concrete high-rise building,
completed in 1973, with one 1-bedroom unit per floor and
seven 2-bedrooms. The higher floors have outstanding
views of the marina and ocean. Amenities include swimming
pool and meeting room. Sales price for the 1-bedroom unit
is in the high $300,000s and the 2-bedroom in the $400,000s.
Mauna Luan
Around the corner on Hahaione Street is this largest
condominium with 433 units in two 20-story towers, 1- and
2- bedroom apartments in a variety of styles. The most
notable feature of this complex is the amazing grounds,
beautifully landscaped with waterfalls, two free-style
swimming pools, nine Jacuzzis, 10 barbecue areas and a
putting green. There are also two racquetball courts. The 1-bedrooms
sell in the
high $300,000s and the 2-bedrooms for mid $400,000s to high $500,000s.
Commodore
The final one in the row is the newest, a 15-story concrete
building completed in 1980, with central air and 114 units.
These consist of 42 1-bedroom two bath, two 3-bedroom
two bath, two 2-bedroom two bath penthouses, and the
rest nice-sized 2/2 apartments (1225 – 1490 sq ft).
The
