The North Shore of Oahu begins in the small town of Laie and ends with Mokuleaia at the most northwestern point of Oahu. It includes nearly 25 miles along the ocean containing over 25 beaches. Real estate prices range from $240,000 up to $14.4 million depending on location.
The North Shore is home to great surfing for beginners in the summer and experienced riders during the winter. Winter waves have been seen to peak as high as 30 feet which are unsafe for surfing but are great for viewing. The town of Haleiwa advertises stand up paddle boarding and even have SUP contests during the summer months. If surfing is not your sport, Sharks Cove offers a great escape beneath the ocean snorkeling.
The North Shore has such tourist attractions as Haleiwa, Dole Plantation, Turtle Bay Resort and Golf Course, and the Polynesian Cultural Center. Each one of these attractions could have a full day of fun and adventure. If you are looking for quiet neighborhoods outside the busy city this area may be for you.
